SHE MUST DIE is a cabaret and interdisciplinary performance piece presented at Links Hall in May and September of 2018. Artist Dylan Bandy creates environments that are dreamy and ephemeral, while soprano Brittany Loewen’s "controlled and powerful" voice acts as a gateway to another realm (Perform Ink Chicago). Laura Dern, Bandy’s two-person act with Cydney Asher, provides the comic relief with bizarre feminist interludes and pop-culture references. Our protagonist stabs herself, she takes the poison, she’s choked, she dies: goodbye, cruel world. SHE MUST DIE is an attempt to reconcile each tawdry demise with something overwhelming, an immersive internal landscape.
