Soprano Brittany Loewen made her debut with Chicago Opera Theater last season as the First Witch and cover for Lady Macbeth in Ernest Bloch’s Macbeth. Brittany earned a Master of Music degree and a Professional Diploma in Opera from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts where she studied with Mark Crayton. Placing first in the CCPA Solo competition, she performed Luonnotar by Jean Sibelius at Harris Theater with the CCPA Symphony Orchestra. At CCPA, she also performed the roles of Helene in Hindemith’s Hin und zurück, Madama Cortese in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims, the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and Jenny in Ned Rorem’s Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters. Brittany is a proud member of the Forte Chicago ensemble, where she acts as performer, secretary, prop master, and social media coordinator.
